VDI - Casting technology in engine construction
The trends towards e-mobility and downsizing determine the development of engines and components. Foundries and engine developers are adapting their products to these trends. Which technical challenges and strategies do determine engine development? The experts at the VDI-Conference “Giesstechnik im Motorenbau” on 29 and 30 January 2019 in Magdeburg, Germany, will provide answers to these questions.
The current changes due to e-mobility and downsizing concepts pose new challenges for classical engine and components foundries. Cast materials, mould and core manufacturing processes, development partnerships and quality assurance concepts must be reconsidered and adapted. These are just some of the questions that arise:
How does the future of combustion engine look like?
Which technical potentials have not yet been exhausted?
What economic contribution does foundry technology make to engine construction in cars, agricultural and construction machinery, special machinery, ships, railways, etc. and commercial vehicles?
What changes are there in the increasing electrification and what does this mean for development and production in the interaction between OEMs, suppliers and science?
What are the special challenges in casting production for the combustion engine?
In addition to the conference, a large trade exhibition will take place, at which GF Casting Solutions will also be represented with a booth.
