At the end of May, the Blue Ridge Community College in North Carolina (USA) opened its new education center. GF Linamar supported the development of the educational area which was specially designed to meet the training needs of the new light metal plant.
For die cast trainings, GF Linamar, its equipment suppliers and the Government with the Golden Leaf support, donated the majority of the necessary equipment and funds for training. Before the opening, two BRCC instructors have received training on equipment set-up, maintenance, and operation at the sites of GF Casting Solutions in Austria and Switzerland.
SAMTEC provides quality workforce training, such as for the production of plastic molding processes. Courses will be offered to GF Linamar employees, as well as to companies locally and across the nation. Long term plans include the development of a full associate degree program in Molding Technology.
